Help❓ AV Store Booking FAQs ✅
Q: Why can’t I sign into the booking system?
A: Have you completed the AV Store induction? If yes, make sure you’re on the correct Connect2 page and using the right username and password. Your username is your ID number, and your password is the one you chose (or your default one if you haven’t set it yet – e.g., your date of birth: 10April24). This is the same password you use for your university email. If it still doesn’t work, contact IT Services for a password reset.
Q: Why can’t I book the equipment I want?
A: Some equipment has restrictions based on course, year, or special inductions. You’ll need to complete the AV Store induction to borrow most items.
Q: I’m not in the Arts & Humanities department. Can I still book equipment?
A: Equipment and facilities are limited to certain courses, so not everyone at the University can access them.
Q: Where do I collect equipment I’ve booked?
A: Collect all equipment from the AV Store: Chatham 1.19, Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
Q: Can the AV Store make a booking for me?
A: Users are responsible for making their own bookings, but staff are happy to advise if you run into any problems.
Q: I completed the AV Store induction and quiz but still don’t have access. What’s happening?
A: It can take up to 48 hours to process accounts. The induction has been open since the start of term. We aim to process accounts as quickly as possible, but please wait at least 3 working days before contacting the AV Store. You’ll get an email once your account is ready.

PoliciesAll AV Store equipment must be booked at least 24 hours in advance through Connect2, as we cannot accept walk-ins, last-minute bookings, or requests made by phone or on behalf of someone else. When you collect, you must bring your MMU ID card, and only the person named on the booking may sign out the kit.
Equipment must be returned on time, complete, and in the same condition it was issued — late returns, missing items, or damage may result in fines, suspension of borrowing privileges, or disciplinary action.
Borrowers are expected to check their kit before leaving and report any problems immediately. All items must be handed back directly to staff — equipment must never be left unattended or dropped off without being checked in.
Long-term loans are only possible during university breaks and must be arranged with staff in advance, depending on demand and availability. Some items, such as specialist cameras, audio equipment, or production kits, may require training, induction, or staff approval before they can be borrowed.
Borrowers are fully responsible for all equipment from the time it is signed out until it is returned and confirmed by staff. If you expect to be late or have an issue during your loan, you must contact the AV Store as soon as possible.
